Lucas Collins joined the firm in 2017 after serving as a criminal defense attorney for the Chittenden County Public Defender’s Office for 10 years. A Vermont native raised in Burlington, Lucas has extensive experience in criminal law and civil litigation, with courtroom experience that includes over 30 jury trials.
His work in criminal defense has included matters such as DUI, drug trafficking, drug sales and possession, domestic assault, aggravated assault, manslaughter, sexual exploitation of a minor, fraud, and impersonation of an officer. Lucas has represented a wide variety of DUI cases based on both alcohol and drug intoxication, successfully defending criminal charges as well as civil suspensions. With his broad experience in family court, he is adept at handling cases involving restraining orders, relief from abuse orders, juveniles and parents, and defendants with mental health conditions.
